And with that...

Christmas is finished for another year. I can't believe how quickly it sailed past!

We faithfully counted down the days on this fun Barbie Advent Calendar.

We couldn't wait to see what was waiting behind each door.
These are some of the favorites. Actually, these are some of the things that have yet to be lost under the piano or gone MIA at the bottom of the toy box. Hope your days have been filled with fun surprises too.

That's A Wrap

I have finally finished wrapping the Christmas gifts. Woohoo! I normally use wired ribbon for the bows, but this year I am obsessed with this fluffy white tinsel garland.
It gives the packages a much needed "Whoville a la Dr. Seuss" quality. Ooh, and it doubles as a boa! What's not to love?

Arbor Day

I almost had cardiac arrest at Target yesterday. While doing a quick spin past the dollar counter, I spotted this fabulous bottle brush tree. I'm a nut for these little trees and I think a lot of you dolls out there feel the same way. The sheer number of blog posts alone about these bottle brush beauties speaks volumes about their popularity. So I was thinking that if one was good...
Two would be better!

Wait! I needed a gold one, so let's round that up to three total. Ahhh...that's better.
For the record though, these are $2.50 each even though they are in the One Spot.
Next, they are available in silver and gold and red and green. (See, I showed some restraint, I only came home with two out of the four available colors.)
Okay, I'll stop blathering on now so that you have time to run to Target and get some of these for yourself before they are all gone.
(Note: Cute little vessels to put them in are not included:0)

Time for...

Hello again dear friends, I am so excited to be participating in another holiday home tour! I thought adding my name to the recent tours would motivate me to finally finish my decorating. I've been burning the midnight oil and I hope you like what I've come up with. If you viewed my last post, you saw LOTS of pastels. Today as promised, I will shift into red and green gear.
Buckle up!
First stop is my kitchen. If you are a regular, you have seen this hutch before. I love to change out the displays to go with the season. The snowmen decided to come out and play this year and I had to let the gingham junkie in me have her fix too. LOL!
Close ups...
This piece cracks me up. They look like they had one egg nog too many at the company Christmas party. The Byers carolers have nothing on this trio.
This is my Mary Engelbreit tree.
The details...

Alright, we have come full circle with "the wall" You have seen it in it's Spring, Summer, and Autumn glory. This is the Winter look.
I had to throw in another jar for good measure. I mean really, whose home show do you think you're at? LOL!
This stuff will probably get a relocated. This is the Island (corner) of Misfit Toys, but I had to slip in another gratuitous jar shot.
Same drill for this corner, minus the jar. I do love that Reese's box though.
Pretty knickknack on my window ledge. Next stop the family room...aka "the cave"
This is the "toy tree". A friend gave it this name because I used to display a lot of vintage toys all around it. The vintage toys happily gave way to my daughter's playthings which now reside by, in, around, and under the tree. Actually just plug in any preposition you want, and that will be an accurate description of the state of affairs in the vicinity of this tree. I tidied up ever so slightly for the photo.

Ooh, and Santas on parade!
Thank you so much for stopping by today! I told you it would be a practically purple free post. LOL! For a complete list of today's participants, please pop over to the blog of our fabulous hostess Heather. Hope you all have a holly jolly week!

Welcome to...

Hello dear friends, thank you so much for stopping by today! I'm thrilled to be a part of Maria's Holiday House Party. I will be showing you a portion of my favorite decorations from my formal living room. I hope you enjoy them!
This is the "big" tree. I have several slim trees that I put up around the house, but this girl is the big show off that makes the front window her home. My formal living and dining rooms are in shades of purple, so I use pale candy colored ornaments to complement the surroundings.
Here are some close ups of favorite ornaments.
I've been collecting Christmas goodies since I was a little girl.
I went through a phase of collecting Santas. This little guy is right at home with the pastels.
Ooh, and I LOVE stars and hearts!
This is the corner to the left of the big tree. Dear Santa, I need a wide angle camera lens please. LOL!
This is where the little Cody Foster houses landed.
Oh yes, and here are the jars as promised. Hey no eye rolling allowed, it is Christmas you know.
You wanted to see them up close right?
This one is my favorite. Gotta love that little pink house!

Thank you so much for stopping by today for my mini tour. If you missed seeing the traditional green and reds of Christmas, then pop back over on Monday for part two of the home show. A girl has to mix it up a little bit. We wouldn't want things to get boring now would we?
