Pink Saturday

When I was a kid, my mother would often buy Neapolitan ice cream. I think the whole point of this purchase was to get more bang for our buck by getting the variety of three flavors for the price of one. The only problem was, I have never been a fan of chocolate ice cream. Consequently, I would carefully dig out the strawberry and vanilla for myself and stick my dad with just the chocolate. So much for variety.
The same was true with these little Neapolitan candies. I would carefully nibble through the layer of strawberry and then polish off the vanilla mid-section, all the while being very careful not to encroach into the dreaded chocolate layer. I think I tossed the chocolate layer rather than leaving it for someone else. At least that was considerate, right?
I've matured somewhat since then. While I still do not like chocolate ice cream, I can now bring myself to eat all three layers of the candy. (Who knew they all tasted the same to begin with?) In fact I like it so much that I'm now working on not eating it all in one bite. I said I had matured somewhat.
Thank you so much for stopping by today for Pink Saturday. Please come by and share my candy with me anytime! In the meantime, pop over to the blog of our fabulous hostess, Beverly, for a list of today's Pink Saturday participants. Happy Day!

I can identify! I always pick the nuts and bagel chips out of party mix! My family tries to get to it before I do. I am not a fan of chocolate ice cream either--now vanilla with chocolate syrup is another story :)

Great story! The same thing happens here at my house. My little boy only likes the strawberry and my daughter only likes the chocolate. My husband and I like all three! hehehe Last night my little boy wanted some icecream so I opened the box to get him some and he had eaten almost all of the strawberry and the other flavors hadn't been touched at all! lol
Hugs,
Happy Pink Saturday!

You and I would make a match made in heaven. I would only eat the chocolate ice-cream. I never liked vanilla or strawberry and still don't. This is too funny, Happy Pink Saturday, Char

I have so many memories with that candy!!! I also liked the orange gum drop Braches and the caramel with the little white swirl in the middle. I remember putting in five cents into the medal box in front to get one piece as a treat.

And I'm just the opposite... I dig out the chocolate and leave the vanilla and strawberry. We'd be perfect together ;)

Great goodies you're sharing! Don't you just ♥ Pink Saturday? This is the one day that I get to totally indulge myself, get all girlie, drink tea with cream, and share time with friends on the internet. Your blog post this week was wonderful...as usual!

Went out to dinner with friends, so I'm a little late, but better late than never, right? I wish you a Sunday filled with family, l♥ve, sunshine and peace.

Boy, did you ever bring back some memories for me. Now you've got me thinking about buying some!

Oh, I will gladly share candy and ice cream with you! I'll take all the chocolate and you can have all the strawberry and vanilla because in our family it was just the opposite!!

Happy Pink Saturday!

Around here it is the opposite. I love the chocolate and my husband loves the strawberry. Since the vanilla is sort of in the center, we both get a bit of that :) Love your bunny hutch, Melissa! Have a happy week. -C ^..^

Boy, I agree with you about the chocolate ice cream. My family thinks I'm crazy to not like it. At my age, I'm not likely to change!
