Christmas Past

I've been rummaging through my Christmas goodies trying to figure out which things I want to have out this year. I know, I know, it's still early but I like to start dreaming and planning, because to me that's half the fun.
Over ten years ago I had a brief foray on the craft show circuit. At that time I was really into making country Christmas decor. Santas, snowmen, and angels were the headliners at all of my gigs.
These are some of the pieces that I had leftover after my last show. I really haven't displayed any of them since then, because at the time I was completely burned out from making them, peddling them, and looking at them in general.
Here we are ten years later, when I can finally bear to look at it all again, and wouldn't you know it, not a bit of it fits in with my current decor. I guess Santa and the girls will need a shabby chic overhaul, because they're not up for being country when country just isn't cool. Then again maybe I can slap some lipstick on those angels and call it folk art. That will put them on the "A-List" for sure.

I think it's great to have neat things like that stored away. Kind of shopping without spending money.

Hi There!

I don't recall if I have posted before, but I have you in my favorites! These decorations are so cute. I love the santa, and the glove one. Maybe you could sell them from your blog!

That Dorothy costume is just adorable. What a lucky little girl!

I'm in the same boat as you. I'm pink all over for Xmas this year. All my Xmas decorations are traditional red and do not fit my style any longer (my husband says WHAT!! It doesn't fit oh nooooo.
So I went shopping and finally found my pinks, blues and mint greens and they are oh so shabby.
I will post them for Pink Saturday. I can't wait to decorate. I'm starting early.

Hi Melissa! I know exactly what you mean about the craft fair and juried show thing. Sometimes I wonder how I managed to do it all. I do love being able to sell over the internet since I've been able to 'meet' so many wonderful people from all over the world through it's magic. But there is nothing like actually poking around a good craft show. As for the decorations, we moved into a very tiny house and I have to rotate what decorations I put out each year. It is fun to look at them all and they make me very nostalgic for Christmases past! Oh! And I did get a bracelet. If you do any more sugarplums, let me know! Warmly, Cathy ^..^
