The last venue for my end of Summer makeover is the mantle. The last time I showed you this area it was spruced up for Spring. I was finally tried of looking at the bunnies, so I decided to mix things up a bit. You have seen some of these things before, but this is the new grouping. I had everything in place but then I decided I wanted to make things a little cozier by adding fabric underneath. I found this striped piece at Target. It's a curtain panel from their Shabby Chic line. The yummy candy colored stripes and ruffle put this over the top for me.
Okay, guilty as charged. There are more faux flowers in the mix as well. And I had to add a pooch here and there too.
I think these little displays will be in a holding pattern until the Halloween decor makes its debut. The way time is flying though, that'll be next week right?

Very fun for summer Melissa! I like all the letters on the balls.
If you can't see the movie Brideshead Revisited, check out the series on DVD. Or have you seen it? Anyway it is really good even though it is dated a tiny bit. They use the same house in both the film and series.
I thought for sure Peggy adopted out the baby too. Given that it was in the sixties. Her being Catholic though, I guess some of it makes sense that the mother is taking care of it. Isn't Don so cute ;)
Can't wait to see what unfolds next.
The mantle looks beautiful!
what a great idea to showcase a mantle redo. people love getting decorating ideas.
I have to thank you again for the award you gave me last month.
I finally got to posting it on my blog and nominating some other ladies to recieve it next.
